What To Expect Contemporary Music: Our worship, led by Tyler Hughes, resembles that of contemporary worship music that you might hear on the radio. A nice mix of current praise songs, and a dose of hymns thrown in for good measure. The worship is up-beat and energetic. We normally use a full band (bass, drums, piano, guitars) but occasionally do acoustic sets for just a little variety. Casual Attire: Most people dress casually – like you might if you were going to a family gathering – jeans and everything. We’d like to think that God will honor our worship, our prayers, and our time despite what clothes we put on that morning. Just so you know, if you come in a 3 piece suit, you might be the only one! But come as you are, we’d love to have you regardless. Open Communion: We believe that communion is for all believers, not just those of our denomination. All are invited to share in this glorious meal. We take communion weekly and spend time remembering and honoring our Lord’s loving sacrifice. We practice by intinction which simply means “dipping.” Some Liturgy: If you are looking for some of the old staples of a Lutheran service, don’t worry, we haven’t gotten rid of them all. You will hear some of the very familiar prayers and blessings that you probably heard growing up, as we participate w/ our rich heritage as Lutherans. |
